Cranberry Orange Ricotta Cheese Brownies

Cranberry Orange Ricotta Cheese Brownies

Ingredients

cup (1 stick) butter or margarine, melted
|
|
3/4
|
cup sugar
|
|
1
|
teaspoon vanilla extract
|
|
2
|
eggs
|
|
3/4
|
cup all-purpose flour
|
|
1/2
|
cup HERSHEY'®S Cocoa
|
|
1/2
|
teaspoon baking powder
|
|
1/2
|
teaspoon salt
|

Cheese Filling (recipe follows)

|
1. Heat oven to 350°F. Grease 9-inch square baking pan.
|
|
2. Stir together butter, sugar and vanilla in medium bowl; add eggs, beating well. Stir together flour, cocoa, baking powder and salt; add to butter mixture, mixing thoroughly. Spread half of chocolate batter in prepared pan. Spread Cheese Filling over top. Drop remaining chocolate batter by teaspoonfuls onto cheese filling.

3. Bake 40 to 45 minutes or until wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool completely in pan on wire rack. Cut into squares. Refrigerate leftover brownies.

Cheese Filling

cup ricotta cheese
|
|
1/4
|
cup sugar
|
|

|
tablespoons whole-berry cranberry sauce
|
|
2
|
tablespoons cornstarch
|
|
1
|
egg
|
|
1/4
|
to 1/2 teaspoon freshly grated orange peel
|
|
4
|
drops red food color (optional)
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
Beat ricotta cheese, sugar, cranberry sauce, cornstarch and egg in small bowl until smooth. Stir in orange peel and food color, if desired.
