cups all-purpose flour
|
|

|
tablespoon baking powder
|
|
1
|
cup MOTT'S® Natural Apple Sauce
|
|
1/2
|
cup low fat plain yogurt
|
|
1/4
|
cup 2% milk
|
|
1/4
|
cup firmly packed light brown sugar
|
|
2
|
tablespoons honey
|
|
1
|
tablespoon ground cinnamon
|
|
1
|
tablespoon lemon juice
|
|
1/4
|
teaspoon ground nutmeg
|
|
4
|
egg whites
|
|
1/4
|
cup finely chopped pecans
|
|
|
Frozen low fat vanilla yogurt (optional)
|
|
|
Additional MOTT'S® Natural Apple Sauce (optional)
|
|
|
Fresh raspberries (optional)
|
|
|

1. In small bowl, sift together flour and baking powder.
|
|
2. In large bowl, combine 1 cup apple sauce, yogurt, milk, brown sugar, honey, cinnamon, lemon juice and nutmeg.
|
|
3. In medium bowl, beat egg whites with electric mixer at high speed until soft peaks form.
|
|
4. Fold egg whites and flour mixture alternately into apple sauce mixture, beginning with egg whites, until well blended. Fold in pecans.
|
|
5. Spray waffle iron with nonstick cooking spray. For every two waffles, pour 1/2 cup batter into hot waffle iron. Spread with knife to cover waffle iron. Close lid and bake until steaming stops.* Top each waffle with scoop of frozen yogurt, additional apple sauce and raspberries, if desired.
