Holiday Wild Rice Pilaf
Makes 4 to 6 servings (about 4-1/2 cups)

Ingredients

tablespoons butter or margarine
|
|
1/2
|
cup chopped onion
|
|
1/2
|
cup sliced celery
|
|
1
|
can (14-1/2 ounces) low-salt chicken broth
|
|
1/2
|
cup water
|
|
1
|
package (6 ounces) original flavor long grain and wild rice mix
|
|
3/4
|
cup SUN-MAID® Raisins or Goldens & Cherries
|
|
1/3
|
cup coarsely chopped pecans, toasted
|
|
|
|
|
|
|

|
|
|
MELT butter in medium saucepan or skillet over medium-high heat.
|
|
ADD onion and celery; cook 3 minutes, stirring occasionally.
|
|
ADD broth, water, rice, contents of seasoning packet and fruit. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat to medium-low. Cover and simmer 25 minutes or until liquid is absorbed.

|
STIR in pecans.
|

Tip
The pilaf makes a wonderful stuffing for turkey or chicken.
