Hearty Beef Bourguignonne


Ingredients
4 slices bacon, chopped
1 medium onion, chopped
1 large carrot, chopped
2 pounds boneless sirloin steak, cut into 3/4-inch cubes
1/2 cup dry red wine or beef broth
1 jar (1 pound 10 ounces) RAGÚ® Robusto®! Pasta Sauce
   
1. In 6-quart saucepan or Dutch oven, cook bacon over medium heat, stirring occasionally, 4 minutes or until crisp. Stir in onion and carrot and cook, stirring occasionally, 5 minutes. Stir in steak and cook over medium-high heat, stirring occasionally, 5 minutes or until steak is no longer pink. Add wine and Pasta Sauce; bring to a boil over high aheat. Reduce heat to low and simmer covered, stirring occasionally, 30 minutes. Serve, if desired, with hot cooked rice or noodles.
 
Recipe Tip   If cooking with wine, use the quality of wine which you would also enjoy drinking. For this classic dinner--your best Burgundy!
