cups (8 ounces) SARGENTO® Chef Style or Fancy Shredded Mild Cheddar Cheese, divided
Cook macaroni according to package directions; drain. In medium saucepan, melt butter and cook onion, if desired, about 5 minutes or until tender. Stir in flour, salt and pepper. Gradually add milk and cook, stirring occasionally, until thickened. Remove from heat. Add 1-1/2 cups cheese and stir until cheese melts. Combine cheese sauce with cooked macaroni. Place in 1-1/2-quart casserole; top with remaining 1/2 cup cheese. Bake at 350°F 30 minutes or until bubbly and cheese is golden brown.
