Italian Sausage Turkey Burgers
Makes 8 servings
Ingredients
1 pound ground turkey
1 pound Italian turkey sausage, casings removed
8 hamburger buns
8 tablespoons bottled marinara sauce
8 slices low-fat mozzarella cheese
   
1. Preheat charcoal grill for direct-heat cooking.
2. In large bowl combine ground turkey and Italian sausage. Shape mixture into 8 burgers approximately 3-1/2 inches in diameter. Grill burgers about 4 inches from heat, 5 to 6 minutes per side or until 165°F is reached on meat thermometer and turkey is no longer pink in center.
3. To serve, place burgers on bottom halves of buns. Top each burger with 1 tablespoon marinara sauce, 1 slice mozzarella cheese and other half of bun.
