Jumbo Jack-o'-Lantern Brownie
Makes 12 to 15 servings
Ingredients
3/4 cup (1-1/2 sticks) butter or margarine, melted
1-1/2 cups sugar
1-1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
3 eggs
3/4 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup HERSHEY'®S Cocoa
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
  Orange Buttercream Frosting (recipe follows)
  Decorating icing or gel and assorted candies
   
1. Heat oven to 350°F. Line 12-inch pizza pan with foil; grease foil.
2. Stir together butter, sugar and vanilla in medium bowl. Add eggs; with spoon, beat well. Stir together flour, cocoa, baking powder and salt; gradually add to egg mixture, stirring until well blended. Spread batter in prepared pan.
3. Bake 20 to 22 minutes or until top springs back when touched lightly in center. Cool completely in pan on wire rack.
4. Remove brownie from pan; peel off foil. Prepare Orange Buttercream Frosting; spread over top of brownie. Garnish as desired with decorating icing and candies to resemble jack-o'-lantern face.
Orange Buttercream Frosting
Makes 1 cup frosting
 
Ingredients
3 tablespoons butter or margarine, softened
2 cups powdered sugar
2 tablespoons milk
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  Red and yellow food colors
   
Beat butter in small bowl until creamy. Gradually add powdered sugar, milk and vanilla, beating until smooth and of spreading consistency. Add additional milk, 1 teaspoon at a time, if needed. Stir in food colors for desired orange color.
