Maple Walnut Pie
Yield: Makes 8 servings
Ingredients:
1
cup maple-flavored syrup
3
eggs
1/2
cup packed dark brown sugar
1
tablespoon butter, melted
1
teaspoon vanilla
1/4
teaspoon salt
1
cup coarsely chopped walnuts
1
(9-inch) unbaked deep-dish pie shell
Nondairy whipped topping or whipped cream (optional)
Preparation:

Preheat oven to 350°F.

Beat syrup, eggs, brown sugar, butter, vanilla and salt in large bowl with electric mixer at medium speed until well blended. Stir in walnuts. Pour filling into unbaked pie shell.
3.
Bake 40 to 45 minutes or until center is firm. Cool 2 hours on wire rack. Top with dollops of whipped topping, if desired. Store in refrigerator.
