Chocolate New York Egg Cream
Makes 1 serving
Ingredients
1 square (1 ounce) semisweet chocolate (optional)
1/4 cup chocolate syrup
1 cup chilled club soda or carbonated mineral water
  Ice
   
1. Shave chocolate with vegetable peeler, if desired. (Makes about 1/2 cup.)
2. Pour syrup into 12-ounce glass. Stir in club soda until foamy. Add ice. Garnish with 1 teaspoon chocolate shavings.* Serve immediately.
*Cover and refrigerate leftover chocolate shavings for another use.
