Simplest-Ever Holiday Gravy
Makes 2 cups

Ingredients

tablespoon olive oil
|
|

tablespoon butter
|
|

tablespoons all-purpose flour
|

cups hot fat-free chicken broth
|
|
|
Pinch of garlic powder
|
|
|
Salt and black pepper to taste

1. Heat olive oil in a medium saucepan over high heat. Add butter. When butter is melted and foaming, whisk in flour. Whisk constantly until fat has absorbed flour, about 30 seconds to 1 minute. Whisk in hot broth, stirring constantly until simmering and thickened, about 3 minutes.

2. Remove from heat. Season with garlic powder, salt and pepper. Gravy will thicken as it cools.
