Giant Easter Egg Cookies
Makes about 2-1/2 dozen cookies
Add these “eggs” to any basket for a special spring treat!
 
Ingredients
2 cups (4 sticks) butter or margarine, softened
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup firmly packed light brown sugar
1 large egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
3-1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup chopped pecans
1-3/4 cups "M&M's"® Semi-Sweet Chocolate Mini Baking Bits, divided
  Decorating icing in tubes
   
Preheat oven to 375°F. In large bowl cream butter and sugars until light and fluffy; beat in egg and vanilla. In medium bowl combine flour and salt; blend into creamed mixture. Stir in nuts and 1-1/4 cups "M&M's"® Semi-Sweet Chocolate Mini Baking Bits. Drop by 1/4 cupfuls about 4 inches apart onto lightly greased cookie sheets; flatten each into egg shape about 4×2-3/4 inches. Bake 11 to 13 minutes or until lightly browned. Carefully remove to wire racks to cool completely. Decorate with icing and remaining 1/2 cup "M&M's"® Semi-Sweet Chocolate Mini Baking Bits. Store in tightly covered container.
