1. In 6-quart saucepan, heat olive oil over medium-high heat and brown chicken pieces. Add mushrooms and cook 2 minutes, stirring occasionally.
2. Stir in crushed tomatoes, soup mix, wine and basil. Bring to a boil over high heat.
3. Reduce heat to low and simmer covered, 30 minutes or until chicken is thoroughly cooked. Serve, if desired, over hot cooked noodles or rice.
Slow Cooker Method
In slow cooker, add mushrooms, then chicken. Combine soup mix, tomatoes, wine and basil; pour over chicken. Cook covered, on LOW 8 hours or HIGH 4 to 6 hours.
