Holiday Wild Rice Pilaf
Makes 4 to 6 servings (about 4-1/2 cups)
Ingredients
2 tablespoons butter or margarine
1/2 cup chopped onion
1/2 cup sliced celery
1 can (14-1/2 ounces) low-salt chicken broth
1/2 cup water
1 package (6 ounces) original flavor long grain and wild rice mix
3/4 cup SUN-MAID® Raisins or Goldens & Cherries
1/3 cup coarsely chopped pecans, toasted
   
Prep Time 8 minutes
Cooking Time 28 minutes
MELT butter in medium saucepan or skillet over medium-high heat.
ADD onion and celery; cook 3 minutes, stirring occasionally.
ADD broth, water, rice, contents of seasoning packet and fruit. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat to medium-low. Cover and simmer 25 minutes or until liquid is absorbed.
STIR in pecans.
 
Tip   The pilaf makes a wonderful stuffing for turkey or chicken.
