Chicken Cacciatore
Makes 4 servings
Ingredients
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 small green bell pepper, sliced
1 small onion, sliced
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breast halves
3 tablespoons sherry or chicken broth
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
1 jar (1 pound 10 ounces) RAGÚ® Old World Style® Pasta Sauce
   
1. In 12-inch skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat and cook bell pepper, onion and garlic powder about 3 minutes or until vegetables are crisp-tender. Add chicken and brown 3 minutes. Stir in sherry and black pepper; cook 3 minutes. Stir in Ragú Old World Style Pasta Sauce and cook over low heat 8 minutes or until chicken is thoroughly cooked. Serve over hot cooked rice or pasta.
 
Recipe Tip   Italian for "hunter," cacciatore sauce is also excellent on pasta, pork chops and pan-fried steaks.
