Banana Walnut Muffins
Makes 18 muffins

Ingredients
1/2 cup (1 stick) butter, softened
1/3 cup granulated sugar
1/3 firmly packed light brown sugar
2 large ripe bananas, mashed
2 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2-1/4 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup buttermilk
3/4 cup chopped walnuts, divided
1 cup "M&M's"® Semi-Sweet Chocolate Mini Baking Bits, divided
  Chocolate Glaze (recipe follows)
   
Preheat oven to 350°F. Lightly grease 18 (2-3/4-inch) muffin cups or line with paper or foil liners; set aside. In large bowl cream butter and sugars until light and fluffy; beat in bananas, eggs and vanilla. In medium bowl combine flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Alternately add one-third flour mixture and half of buttermilk to creamed mixture, ending with flour mixture. Stir in 1/2 cup walnuts. Divide batter evenly among prepared muffin cups. Sprinkle with 3/4 cup "M&M's"® Semi-Sweet Chocolate Mini Baking Bits. Bake 20 to 25 minutes or until toothpick inserted in centers comes out clean. Cool completely on wire racks. Prepare Chocolate Glaze. Drizzle over muffins; sprinkle with remaining 1/4 cup walnuts and remaining 1/4 cup "M&M's"® Semi-Sweet Chocolate Mini Baking Bits. Store in tightly covered container.
Chocolate Glaze
 
Ingredients
1 cup powdered sugar
1 tablespoon plus 1 teaspoon unsweetened cocoa powder
1 tablespoon plus 1 teaspoon water
3/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
   
In medium bowl combine powdered sugar and cocoa powder. Stir in water and vanilla; mix well.
