Cotton Candy Princess Crowns

Ingredients
1 cup white icing, divided
12 chocolate wafers
12 sugar cones
3 cups cherry-vanilla or mint-flavored ice cream
12 peppermint candies, crushed
1 bag (2-1/2 ounces) cotton candy

1. Spread 1 tablespoon icing evenly over top of each chocolate wafer, being sure to cover the entire top. Refrigerate remaining icing until needed.
2. Fill each cone with 1/4 cup ice cream, placing in freezer while filling remaining cones. When filled, place each cone on top of iced wafer. Sprinkle edges with crushed peppermint candy and store in freezer until ready to serve.
3. Just before serving, place 1 teaspoon icing on each cone tip. Very lightly tear off pieces of cotton candy and press to iced tip to create sash.

Note   Cotton candy sashes may take a few tries to work. Extend a sash by simply pressing another shredded piece to it.

Note   Sashes may be added up to 2 hours prior to serving. Store in freezer. Cotton candy will deteriorate and dissolve if stored longer than two hours.
