Bucket of Sand Cake

Ingredients
1 package (18-1/4 ounces) banana or butter pecan cake mix, plus ingredients to prepare mix
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1 package (6-serving size) instant butterscotch pudding mix, plus ingredients to prepare mix
Clean plastic beach pail and shovel
1-1/2 cups graham cracker or shortbread cookie crumbs, divided
Gummy fish and octopus, starfish and seashell candies, green string candy and mini chocolate chips

1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Prepare and bake cake mix according to package directions in two 9-inch round cake pans, stirring cinnamon and nutmeg into batter. Cool in pans on wire racks 10 minutes; remove from pans and cool completely.
2. Meanwhile, prepare pudding mix according to package directions.
3. Cut 1 cake layer into 1-inch slices; arrange about one-third of slices in bottom of pail. Spoon one-third of pudding over cake slices; top with one-third of cake slices. Repeat layers with one-third of pudding and remaining cake slices. Sprinkle with 1 cup graham cracker crumbs. Place shovel in cake. Decorate top of cake with gummy fish and other candies as desired.
4. Cut second cake layer in half horizontally. Place one half, cut side up, on serving plate. Place pail on top of cake layer. Break remaining cake layer into chunks; arrange around base of pail. Spoon remaining pudding over cake chunks; sprinkle remaining 1/2 cup graham cracker crumbs over pudding. Decorate with candies as desired. To serve, use shovel to spoon cake onto plates.
