Mini SPAM® Classic & Cheese Buns
Makes 24 appetizers
Ingredients
1 (1-pound) loaf frozen bread dough, thawed
1 (12-ounce) can SPAM® Classic, shredded
1-1/2 cups (6 ounces) shredded Monterey Jack cheese
2 teaspoons dried dill weed
1 egg
1 tablespoon water
   
Cut bread dough in half lengthwise; cut each half into 12 pieces. In medium bowl, combine SPAM®, cheese and dill weed; mix well. Place about 1 tablespoon SPAM™ mixture in center of 1 piece of dough. Shape dough into a ball; place on greased baking sheet. Repeat with remaining dough pieces. Cover; let rise in warm place 30 to 40 minutes or until doubled in bulk. Heat oven to 350°F. Uncover dough. In small bowl, stir together egg and water. Brush each piece of dough with egg mixture. Bake 20 to 30 minutes or until golden brown. Serve warm.*
*To reheat buns, wrap in aluminum foil. Bake 10 to 15 minutes or until thoroughly heated. Buns can be frozen. Seal in freezer-weight plastic food storage bags and freeze up to 2 months. Reheat as directed.
