Pudding is a term that most often describes a creamy cooked dessert made with milk, sugar, flavoring and a thickener, such as eggs, cornstarch or tapioca. Puddings can be homemade or prepared from mixes, which require only the addition of milk. Other types of puddings include baked puddings, such as bread pudding and rice pudding, and steamed puddings, such as plum pudding. Less common are savory puddings, such as corn pudding and Yorkshire pudding.
