Pepper sauce, or hot pepper sauce,
is a thin, spicy liquid, usually red in color, made from chili peppers (such
as cayenne, jalapeño and serrano), vinegar and seasonings. Widely used
in Cajun, Creole and Caribbean cooking, it is used both as an ingredient and
table condiment. There are many brands, each with a unique taste and widely
varying levels of heat.
