Muesli

Muesli, the German word for "mixture," is a breakfast cereal that combines a variety of toasted grains (such as oats, wheat and barley) with bran, nuts and dried fruit. It was developed in the late 1800's by a Swiss nutritionist as a health food. It originally was intended to be soaked in milk for several hours before serving, resulting in a slurry. Now, it is sold as a packaged cereal and is usually served with milk.
